Confession by Little iApps

I confess that when I first heard of Confession by Little iApps, I was more than skeptical. After all, right in their press release it states that the app was, “designed to be used in the confessional.”

As one who is proud to never bring my phone into the Lord’s house with me, I started out feeling uneasy about this app. The thought of bringing along a phone or iPod to confession just feels…wrong.

However, once I looked into the app, I have to admit that it is wonderful. I would still not want to bring it into the confessional with me, however, to do an examination of conscience nightly, and certainly at home before heading to Confession seems like a wonderful idea. I was half expecting that as you select sins from the examination of conscious it would prompt you with similar faults, however, it works just as a regular examination of conscience would and just has a check list.

Most of all I was highly impressed to find the developer commenting on this article by the National Catholic Register to clear up the misconception that the application was developed by priests. Very classy.

At $1.99 in the App Store, I say Confession is well worth the price tag.

Thank you for reviewing our app, Confession: A Roman Catholic App. As one of the developers for this app, I just want to point out one thing for clarification. Although the actual examination of conscience items were written by priests, the actual application was not written by priests. It was written by three married men who all have a love of their Church and a love for technology. We wrote it because it was something that we wanted to help us in our spiritual life.

You can find out more at the article released Catholic News Services:http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1100408.htm

    Thanks!
